Kathleen Hughes has been with the Home of Hope Cancer Wellness Centers since February
2006, and assumed the role of Executive Director in July 2007. Kathleen brings 9
years of experience to the center; which she has acquired from managing various
not-for profit organizations and programs. Included in her years of experience,
Hughes planned, organized and led the first Making Strides Against Breast Cancer
fundraiser for the American Cancer Society Rockford /Batavia Division. Prior to
joining the Home of Hope Cancer Wellness Centers, she served as the Director of
Health Education for the Ogle County Health Department.

Sky Niesen Smith, MSW,LSW - Clinical Director

Sky Niesen Smith is a Licensed Social Worker who works with individuals, couples,
and families who have been touched by cancer in addition to supervising the clinical
team. She has been working with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of
fields since 2000. Sky has been working at Home of Hope Cancer Wellness Centers
since 2007 as a Youth Counselor and became the Clinical Director in July 2007. Smith
currently provides all levels of counseling at Home of Hope Cancer Wellness Centers
and also facilitates support and networking groups.

Connie Thimmesch, BSW- Community/Volunteer Coordinator

Connie Thimmesch is the Community/Volunteer Coordinator for the Home of Hope Cancer
Wellness Centers. She has acquired over 13 years of experience in the Human Service
field through the Ogle County Health Department. Connie coordinates the wellness
programs, facilitates a variety of support groups, and supervises and coordinates
all the volunteers.

Renee Krynski, MSW-Program Coordinator

Renee Krynski is the Program Coordinator for the Home of Hope Cancer Wellness Centers.
She brings a variety of experience to the center; which she acquired through working
with various adult and youth service programs. Renee develops and coordinates many
educational programs. In addition, Renee facilitates a variety of support groups,
ands works closely with the Clinical Director to provide various groups, programs,
and support to the Home of Hope members.

Helen Woodrum-Social Work Intern
|

|
|
Helen Woodrum is an intern at the Home of Hope Cancer Wellness Centers. She is currently
studying for her Bachelors degree in Social Work at the Aurora University. Helen
assists in the facilitating of a variety of adult and children programs and the
physician referral program. During her internship, she has developed a resource
guide to be used by the staff and assists with ongoing research projects.

Kip Aitken is the Development/Marketing Manager for the Home of Hope Cancer Wellness
Centers. He has acquired over 15 years of experience in strategic planning, development,
and marketing. Kip provides the leadership for the various fundraising events, promotes
the organization’s mission, and generates additional funds.

Joanne West - Office Manager

Joanne West is the Office Manager for the Home of Hope Cancer Wellness Centers.
She brings 9 years of experience to the center in accounting and managing offices.
Joanne will be responsible for the daily office procedures and the financial record
keeping for all the centers.
